No, you can't see the northern lights from Portugal unless you have a telescope pointed at the North Pole.
The northern lights, or aurora borealis, mostly hang out near the Arctic Circle. Portugal sits far south of their usual party zone, so catching them there is about as likely as pigs flying. Your best bet is to book a trip to Scandinavia or Iceland if witnessing this glowing spectacle is your dream. Enjoy the sunsets in Portugal instead.
